Dani isn’t just the self-proclaimed youngest and greatest magician of all time, she’s fighting to be seen by the adults that keep looking past her. But as they continue to exploit, placate, or ignore her, Dani the Destroyer’s final act becomes an explosive reckoning.
Directors’ Statement:
A grim and silly horror fable about the quiet devastation of being unseen. Though she’s dismissed by every adult around her, Dani knows exactly who she is, and she WILL be heard. Whether it’s her mother’s contempt, her aunt’s condescension, or a Balloon Artist’s obliviousness, the pressure on Dani echoes the real-world harm done when we refuse to honor someone’s name, identity, or truth. Beneath the film’s playful absurdity is a warning: underestimate them at your own risk. And also… social media influencers are the worst.
